A New Year Message From Our Founder

Hello Good Souls! Happy New Year! From my family to yours, we hope you were able to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday with your loved ones. We are grateful to kick off 2024, and look forward to what the year has in store. Good Soul Shop wouldn't be here today without each and every one of you. Whether you have purchased from us, followed us on social media, read our emails, or told your friends and family about us, we are truly grateful. 

I want to take this moment to send a sincere "Thank you."

At the start of a new year, it's inevitable that we reflect on the previous year. 2023 was a good year and like any other, we also had our challenges. On a personal note, I'd like to share a little behind the scenes with you, our Good Soul family.

First off, we are grateful for our family and our health. 2023 was a year of change for my husband, Pat, and me. Last January, we moved Pat's 91 year old dad in with us under hospice care. We're blessed his health has remained stable and he's approaching his 92nd birthday this month! It's hard adjusting to a new way of life, and at the same time, we are blessed to be able to have him in our home surrounded by a wonderful caretaking family and Hospice team. 

Other highlights include kicking 2023 off with an appendectomy (not fun!), turning 50, helping my parents settle in after moving close to Pat and I in Greenville, SC, Pat's job change and finding his calling with a pet supplies company (as you'll read momentarily), celebrating my first bonus son's engagement, second bonus son's move into piloting for a large airline, bonus daughter's wedding, and welcoming three rescue dogs into our household for a total of NINE dogs. Yes, we are nuts. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Good Soul Shop had a great year, thanks to each of you. First, we were able to donate a percentage of our sales to several charities. We expanded our candle line with new seasonal scents (and have an exciting lineup for 2024). We started manufacturing our own Swedish dish cloth designs and bath soap under the Good Soul Shop brand. We continued our push to incorporate only non-synthetic fragrance (using essential and plant-based oils) and eliminate synthetic dyes in our bath soap. And we began designs on new products as well.

We have big goals for 2024 as we look to grow our brand, introduce more Good Soul Shop eco-friendly essentials, and expand into retail stores. And none of this would be possible without you. So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
